Cognisant Search has been instructed to appoint a Commercial Director on behalf of the South West regional office of a well-known housebuilder that develop quality, family homes. The business has a very strong land bank, is dynamic, entrepreneurial, and progressive.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reporting to the Managing Director you will be responsible for all commercial activities including surveying, buying and estimating

  • Leading, directing and coaching the commercial team, developing their skills, and embedding best practice

  • Ensuring a robust commercial attitude which enables best, fair value to be obtained

  • Overseeing company procurement ensuring best value and a robust supply chain, promoting valued relationships and innovation

  • Contributing as a key member of the senior management team, ensuring that the business continues to thrive and grow

We are keen to speak existing Commercial Directors or highly experienced, Senior Commercial Managers ready to make the step up. You are driven, commercially minded, find solutions to problems, lead from the front and are single minded on cost control. You are a team player with a firm but fair attitude, able to stand your corner.
